Christopher McFall, Brent Sommerhauser
6 June – 26 July

Ultrasonic sound installation for sculptor Brent Sommerhauser’s
‘Amidst: An exhibition of recent coercions’ at Donna Beam Fine
Art Gallery
, University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

“The work in this show comes from a long-standing curiosity
regarding invisible forces bumping into visible material,
and about memory and structure. A ‘tangle of matter and
ghost’, as Leonard Cohen mentioned a time or two.
This exhibition will include works in blown and sculpted glass,
experimental photography, carved pencils, wood, paper and
a little wind.”

3 Propositions for a White Room
De witte Zaal, Gent, May 2008

A top-class presentation of new work by three young sound artists
from Gent. Pauwel De Buck performed an electronic cityscape
based on transformed and manipulated sounds culled from urban
environments. Mieke Lambrigts presented a new chapter in her
series of electronic ‘chamber music’: location recordings and sine
generators, tailored to a specific environment. Jeroen Vandesande
composed a new piece for a closed feedback circuit with string
performers Thomas Smetryns and Dirk Moelants.
